About the Role:
As a Machine Learning & Data Science Engineer at Tricura, you will take ownership of critical AI and data science initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex problems, deploying scalable solutions, and collaborating across teams to deliver real business impact.
You will work closely with their CTO and interface with Data Engineering, Tech Leadership, and Product teams to drive forward key projects and contribute to the growth of the team's technical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Develop AI-Powered Solutions:
Build, train, and manage agentic AI agents to automate routine and manual tasks.
Develop predictive models to anticipate clinical adverse events and improve risk management.
2) LP Model Development and Refinement:
Enhance existing NLP models for classifying large volumes of clinical text with precision.
Train NLP tagging models for data extraction from PDFs and other unstructured formats using LLMs (e.g., BERT, Llama, Claude, ChatGPT).
3) Collaborate on Data Science Initiatives:
Assist in building natural language querying functionality for internal datasets.
Leverage machine learning and data science expertise to solve business-critical problems.
4) Production Deployment:
Put models into production via Docker, APIs, or similar tools. Monitor and maintain deployed models for performance and scalability.
5) Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the CTO, Data Engineering, Tech Leadership, and Product teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
6) Project Management:
Manage tasks in Jira, meet deadlines, and contribute to team stand-ups.
Must have requirements:
Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python.
Machine Learning: Strong experience with frameworks like PyTorch, Keras, and scikit-learn.
Data Engineering: Skilled in SQL (Postgres, MySQL, or Snowflake preferred) and feature engineering.
Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with AWS (S3, EC2).
Version Control: Proficiency with GitHub/GitLab.

End-to-End ML Expertise:
Engineer and select features.
Build, tune, and interpret ML models.
Deploy models into production environments.
Communication: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to align technical efforts with business objectives.
Nice to have:
Experience with R programming.
Direct LLM implementation experience.
Domain knowledge in healthcare, insurance, or finance.
Experience building underwriting algorithms or related solutions.

— Full-time job (8 hours a day, Monday to Friday, with a flexible schedule during EST working hours - 9 am to 5 pm - with daily team stand-ups at 12:30 pm EST, you may check the time difference via the link).
