Research Associate at RemCal Insights
Research Associate at RemCal Insights - New York-based consumer-focused company helping small businesses find their target audience
RemCal Insights is a forward-thinking research consultancy founded by Rachel Martin, a seasoned strategist and consumer insights expert with over 12 years of experience. Driven by a passion for delivering timely and actionable insights, Rachel launched RemCal Insights after seven years in boutique research firms, frustrated with the inefficiency of traditional research timelines. By developing a streamlined approach, she has made it possible to deliver high-quality insights in just 2-3 weeks, empowering brands to make faster, data-driven decisions.
At RemCal Insights, Rachel leads the charge, collaborating with category experts and skilled consumer recruiters to ensure each project is tailored to the unique needs of clients. The company specializes in a range of methodologies designed to uncover deep, meaningful insights.
Currently, Rachel is looking for a Research Associate - sounds like something you will be interested in? Then apply now!
What will you do?
Support Rachel with project management on strategic projects for key clients, covering various aspects of project delivery: recruiting, scheduling, analysis, and reporting.
Contribute to research design and the development of discussion guides (questions for interviews and focus groups).
Write recruitment screeners (short questionnaires to identify eligible research participants).
Recruit potential research participants.
Write and proofread Word reports, as well as prepare post-research presentations for clients.
Assist Rachel in developing and implementing business development and marketing initiatives: analyze topics that may interest potential clients, and transform presentations and researched information into thought-provoking website articles, newsletters, and LinkedIn posts to attract new clients.
Maintain the company's CRM system (HubSpot) by keeping client information up to date. Profound knowledge of CRM systems isn’t required—this task helps Rachel track all research projects and their stages of implementation; we consider it a project management tool.
Optional task (if you're interested and the main tasks are completed successfully): Work on quantitative studies (e.g., conducting surveys and analyzing post-survey data). Experience in simple data analysis (at least using Excel or Google Sheets) and a basic understanding of statistics would be beneficial.
Requirements:
Excellent English skills – You’ll be communicating with native English speakers. We expect you to have at least an advanced level of English, and your work should be completely free of mistakes.
Proactivity and teamwork – Rachel is looking for someone full of ideas, not just an executor. You need to be proactive, a strong team player, and unafraid to voice your opinions.
Marketing background and interest – A background in marketing is helpful, though not required. You should have a strong drive and motivation to learn more about marketing and consumer behavior. A Master’s degree is acceptable, provided you have completed at least some internships in marketing or consumer research.
Very strong writing skills – Strong writing abilities are very important for this role. You should be able to write clearly and compellingly. We can share a LinkedIn article we’ve done to give you a sense of the style we’re looking for.
Self-reliance – With just a KPI, you should be able to create your own tasks. While you’ll receive training, you should be able to figure out how to complete tasks independently.
Diligence – You’ll be conducting research, so we need someone who persistently seeks new sources of information and explores all possible avenues.
Ability and desire to learn – You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be eager to grow. The ideal candidate is someone interested in research and with some experience in methodology, who is also passionate about startups and business growth.
Attention to detail – Market analysis and research will require a keen eye and thoroughness.
Analytical mindset – You should have strong critical thinking skills, enabling you to gather, analyze, and interpret information effectively.
Preferably, knowledge of online graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and presentation software (e.g., Google Slides, PowerPoint, Keynote).
Not required, but an advantage: Familiarity with data analysis (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R) and a basic understanding of statistics.
Working hours:
You should be able to adjust to the EST time zone - that is you will be working from 9 am to 5 pm New York time (EST time zone - you may check the time difference via the link).
What we offer:
Full-time job (8 hours per day, Monday-Friday). Please note that we support your desire to combine this job with Master’s degree studies, however, we will not consider candidates planning to combine several jobs or Bachelor’s.
Remote work. You may be located in any country or city, just need a good Internet connection, a powerful computer to work from, and an opportunity to adjust your working schedule to match Rachel’s hours.
Stability - this is not an internship or project work, we consider only the candidates looking for a long-term commitment of 2+ years.
Opportunity to learn from the founder while working with her directly.
Quick selection process.
Application deadline: 9 February 2025.
Please note that the later you apply - the more intensive your selection process will be, for example, you will have less time for the test assignment, etc.
