Junior Commercial Real Estate Analyst for MBP - the US-based boutique firm with $3B in transactions, specializing in Real Estate deal structuring.
MBP - A dynamic and rapidly growing company based in Los Angeles, MBP specializes in commercial real estate investments. Over the past 6 years, our young but highly skilled team has successfully raised capital for commercial real estate ventures and recently expanded into IT projects within real estate finance. In 2024, MBP acquired the StackSource platform, which connects clients with banks, and we are actively pursuing additional acquisitions. With offices opening in New York and Miami, we’re a team of around 35, with capital advisors across major U.S. states. While our LA team works in-office, most of our team operates remotely. Our founder, Max, also runs an investment firm focused on acquiring properties nationwide and investing in various projects.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a remote Junior Commercial Real Estate Analyst to join our expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to support client deals and contribute to our acquisitions and investment analyses. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of experience in commercial real estate or financial analysis, ideally with exposure to U.S.-based companies. You will assist in analyzing various asset classes, reviewing financial documents, and providing detailed underwriting to support investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting & Financial Analysis:
Assist in underwriting various commercial real estate asset classes, including office, hotel, multifamily, retail, and specialty properties.
Review profit and loss statements, rent rolls, and other financial data to help assess property performance.
Support cash flow analyses, including discounted cash flow (DCF) modeling, and run basic sensitivity and scenario tests.
Market Research:
Conduct market research to support underwriting assumptions, including gathering data on comparable sales, rent levels, and occupancy rates.
Stay informed on U.S. commercial real estate market trends to provide insights to the team.
Investment Memorandum Preparation:
Contribute to the preparation of investment memorandums by compiling underwriting results and market data into presentations.
Provide initial observations and recommendations on potential investment opportunities.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with senior analysts and other team members to ensure timely and accurate underwriting support.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and U.S.-based clients to address questions and gather necessary information.
Qualifications:
1+ year of relevant experience in commercial real estate underwriting, financial analysis, or related fields, ideally with exposure to the U.S. market.
Basic financial modeling skills, including DCF and IRR calculations.
Experience working with asset classes such as office, hotel, multifamily, or retail properties is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel and an interest in learning relevant financial software.
Strong analytical skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving — if you don't know something, you should feel comfortable researching or asking for help rather than waiting for instructions.
Working hours:
You’ll need to adjust your schedule to overlap with the team daily till 2 pm EST (Miami time, check the time difference via the link). The remaining hours can be flexible, the team cares for the results, not micromanagement.
What we offer:
Full-time job (8 working hours per day, Monday-Friday). Please note that we will not consider candidates planning to combine several jobs.
A great opportunity to develop skills & knowledge in financial analytics and real estate industry standards in the US market. Your future manager is a professor at New York University, so you’ll be able to learn and practice a lot.
Remote work. You may be located in almost any country or city, just need a good Internet connection, a computer to work from, and the opportunity to adjust your working schedule for the team.
Stability - this is not an internship or project work, we consider only the candidates looking for a long-term commitment of 1.5+ years.
