Strategy & Innovation Business Development Representative at TraceAir
Strategy & Innovation Business Development Representative (S&I BDR) at TraceAir - a US-based site work intelligence software that empowers construction teams with critical data at their fingertips
TraceAir is a construction management solution powered by drones. We use drones to get accurate 3D copies of construction sites weekly. Then our software compares 3D copies of construction sites against design documentation to find errors, track progress, and plan the next steps to save money and time.
We are growing rapidly and looking for an ambitious person with excellent communication skills and an engineering mindset to join our Strategy & Innovations (S&I) team.
The S&I team at TraceAir is responsible for finding new markets where TraceAir products could be sold next. Think of it as a science lab. We set up a hypothesis, define means of testing it, and get our hands dirty. It includes, but is not limited to running market research, coming up with a suitable product, and attempting to sell it to potential customers.
✨ You’ve mastered sales - now you want more? ✨
This role is for smart, ambitious salespeople who are ready to break free from repetitive quotas and cookie-cutter scripts. If you’re craving something more intellectually engaging — where you get to blend sales with research, strategy, and constant experimentation — this is where you’ll thrive.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you’d be joining a small team that includes heads of various departments at TraceAir. The job includes, but is not limited to:
Brainstorming new hypotheses and ways of testing them,
Setting up research interviews via email, phone, and other channels,
Selling new TraceAir products over the phone, email, and other channels,
Scheduling 15-30 research/sales meetings per month,
Proactively analyzing what works (and what doesn’t) and adjusting approach accordingly,
Gradually growing into running demos & research meetings (beyond initial scheduling), and closing deals yourself.
Unlike traditional sales roles this job is much more diverse with learnings happening every day. The sales script has to be updated every week and, sometimes, the direction of sales changes all together.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn how new products are created in a startup environment. TraceAir is a series-B company with significant traction and revenue making it the safest startup environment. The role provides an opportunity to grow to positions in S&I and Sales.
